I have become a parent this year, experiencing the love and huge responsibility to raise a child. It's even clearer to me now how important it is that children get the right love, support and care that they need. I have friends with children or family members on the autism spectrum, and they have shared how both research and community awareness of early diagnosis/detection has been instrumental in providing a better life for their loved ones. Recent studies say that 1 in 68 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. And more focused awareness on early diagnosis has allowed younger children with autism to learn the skills needed to enhance their quality of life.
To help raise awareness and do my part to contribute to providing better quality of life for children on the autism spectrum, I am joining RUN FOR AUTISM, running the London marathon in April 2020, making each mile meaningful by fundraising for a great cause.
