Hi! My name is Anya! I'm honored to be part of US team OAR in London marathon! The word awareness is very close to my heart. I have amazing husband and two beautiful boys. My older son was born with trachea esophageal fistula. The side effects from surgery are cough, hoarseness and a lot of not fun things! What does it have to do with Autism! Well, there were a lot of judgement and so many dirty looks when my son would cough or laugh differently, or when the school would call me at least once a week saying that he threw up at lunch time. I just wanted to scream at everyone, but as older I got and more educated about TEF, instead of getting mad and upset, I started teaching people about this phenomena. I wanted everyone to know my baby as the smartest, cutest and happiest kid, not as the sick one! Awareness and education, no matter how cliche it sounds, are power! Help me raise money for OAR and spread the love!!!
