Thank you all for your support. It's amazing that I could find so many amazing friends to help me reach my goal.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sharon
I'm in the last week of training. I know that this point that it is a matter of mental strength. My own worst enemy is in my head and I fight hard with each long run to just continue to push through the discomfort. I don't know if the "pain" I have is legitimate or just a "mind worm" that's saying "what makes you think you can do this". On the weeks that I've run 15 or 18 miles at one time I've reached the point of saying "I can do anything". I WILL DO THIS! You can follow my progress next Sunday by downloading the Marine Corp Marathon app and click the link to "track a runner". My bib number is 27933.
Now my delema has to do with the support that I pledged to the OAR (Organization for Autism Research). Please consider helping me reach my goal. I pledge to run this, or walk or crawl if need be to finish 26.2 miles. Even if you can only afford $5, that would help. If you can't do that, please post this on your FaceBook page or Instagram or what ever other social network you use.
One week to go. Even some words of encouragement will help.
Thanks again. Sharon
This is my original post.
Last time I tried to accomplish something really challenging it took finding a cause. It was ALS then but it's Autism now.
Please help me raise enough money to help with the research cost of figuring out this disorder. Every penny counts. The more that I can raise, the stronger my motivation to complete this challenge...otherwise, why would I ever consider running a MARATHON?
I've reached the 1/2 way point of training and I still have so much to go. I completed 16 miles this morning (9-1-18) and have such a sense of dedication to completing this challenge. I still have to figure out how to add another 10 miles in one outing but 16 was really challenging this morning with a painful callus on my foot. I'll visit my podiatrist and I'm sure will be pain free soon.
Thanks for your consideration. Your help is appreciated. Anything would be helpful.
Love you all.
Sharon
