My name is David Cuñado and I am a teenage boy from Miami, Florida with a passion for endurance sports. Throughout my life, I have also been very involved with helping children with special needs, specifically but not limited to children on the Autism spectrum. This passion arose from having grown up with my brother Sam who is on the Autism spectrum. In the 14 years I have been with Sam, I have learned that not enough resources are being allocated towards helping children who face similar challenges to overcome them and be able to achieve the goals that many other people may take for granted. For this reason, I combined my passion for swimming, biking and running with my love for interacting with and learning from children with Autism to complete my next Olympic distance triathlon on April 15th, 2018 for a good cause. The Organization for Autism Research has given me the opportunity to run my next race to raise money for their foundation which specializes in researching Autism and helping the community of people affected by Autism with scholarships and other resources to make overcoming the challenge a little bit easier. OAR is a cause that I can wholeheartedly support and one which I feel represents the change that I would love to see make so many peoples' lives better. I would greatly appreciate donations of any amount so that this upcoming race can help make a positive impact on the world and so that this passion of mine can serve for a cause much greater than myself.
