Missy & I ran the Chicago Marathon to fundraise for OAR 10 years ago as it was a cause near and dear to Missy as a Special Education teacher here in Schaumburg. The work OAR has done in the name of autism research and to help those that suffer from it is outstanding. In the last decade, Missy has run a marathon every year for OAR. We are blessed to have all 4 of our kids and our new son-in-law in Special Education and Social Work. They have all taught me that those diagnosed on the autism spectrum are challenged throughout life, but it is not what defines them. I’m inspired every day by their life’s calling. Well, it’s about time I do my part, albeit 10 years later.
I will be running the Indianapolis Marathon on November 3rd. I did not use a charity fundraising entry to register, but just wanted to modestly see what I could raise and use it as an inspiration to finish the 26.2 miles. I know there are dozens if not hundreds of fundraising requests that compete for your hard-earned dollar every year. Any amount would be truly appreciated and goes directly to autism research.
Thanks so much!
Ed
