RUNNING SAVED MY LIFE! As a person with Autism, there were many things I was told I wouldn't be able to do. Running changed all that, it organized my brain, relieved my anxiety, provided me with a social circle, gave me an area to excel in, provided a safe haven for me, and even took me to and through college... it saved my life. Now I have the opportunity to use my running to impact others lives for good.
On March 10th I will be running my first marathon - the D.C. Rock n Roll - and doing it to raise money for the Organization for Autism Research (O.A.R.). My goal is to raise a minimum of $1,000. Back in 2011 O.A.R. awarded me a college scholarship and supported me in my journey. Now it's my turn to give back. Will you help me?
People with Autism are some of the most courageous, resilient, tenacious, and strong-hearted people I know. I'm doing this for them and for myself because the struggle is real, however so is the triumph! So I'm runnin' for a reason and I'd love to take you along with me.
