I run for my boys and I run for all people who are on the spectrum. When my wife and I first found out that our youngest was on the spectrum the Organization for Autism has a sister site just for military members called Operation Autism. The information provided helped guide us as we were stationed overseas and were not able to get any support. I run in support of getting rid of labels for anyone with any diagnoses. No low or high functioning we are all humans and we should not have to be stuffed into a system of boxes so people feel more comfortable. I wanted to run for OAR because of the great support and information that they provide to military families because sometimes it is hard to the get this through just the military network.
