On September 10th of this year the Wisconsin Ironman will be held in Madison. I am excited about being one of the participants for this year’s race. I decided to take on the challenge of the Ironman race for two reasons. First, I am the Cookie Dad for my daughter’s Girl Scouts Troop, and you may know that their motto is “Be Prepared”…to eat cookies. I chose poorly by storing these cookies in my home, within easy reach. Second and more importantly, the Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is a charity partner for the Wisconsin Ironman. OAR’s goal is to make a difference with those with autism, their families and care givers by focusing solely on funding applied science for autism. Research which directly impacts the day-to-day quality of life for those with autism. OAR has also launched Hire Autism, a job board for those on the spectrum, allowing direct access to local employment opportunities. Please donate any amount you can, no matter how little you think it may be using the donate button. After all, if you give the donation directly to me, I’ll just use it for more Girl Scout cookies.
