Thank you for visiting my OAR race page! This September, I will be challenging myself to complete a full ironman in partnership with the Organization for Austism Research. I kindly appreciate all donations (they're tax deductable) and ridicule when I slowly cross the finishline.
Here are some facts you may or may not know about autism:
- Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys
- Autism prevalence figures are growing
- Autism is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the U.S.
- Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
- Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
- There is no medical detection or cure for autism
As some of you know, my sister Katie has dedicated her professional career to educating austistic children across the spectrum. I have had the privledge to hear the stories of the incredible breakthroughs and realizations from families at her school. They are motivating and moving. And believe it or not, they come to fruition thanks to even the smallest of donations and funded ideas. Please consider a donation!
